Cromoteca is built to keep your work on your Mac. This page explains, in plain terms, what does and doesn't leave your machine.

Your media stays local

Downloads, transcription, color extraction, and screen recordings all happen on your Mac. Files you download or record are saved to folders you choose on your own disk. Transcription runs on-device — audio is not uploaded to a server to be transcribed. Screen recordings are written only to your chosen folder and are never uploaded. Cromoteca does not require an account and does not sync your archive to any cloud.

The Pro web workspace

When you run a job in the browser workspace, a worker fetches and processes the media, then hands the finished file to your computer. That working copy is a delivery buffer, not a library: it is deleted as soon as your browser confirms the download, and an automatic sweep removes anything never collected. Cromoteca does not keep your media as part of your account. What remains is metadata — job status, file sizes, timings and error codes — which is what usage limits and support are based on.

Network requests the app makes

Beyond fetching what you ask for and checking for updates, Cromoteca does not transmit your library or transcripts to us.

Payments

Purchases are processed by Stripe. Payment details are entered into Stripe's secure checkout and handled under Stripe's own privacy policy — we do not receive or store your full card number. We may receive basic order information (such as your purchase email) to deliver your download and provide support.

This website

You can browse cromoteca.app without creating an account. We aim to collect as little as possible. If you email support, we use your message and email address only to help you.

Your responsibility
